Obituary of Barbara Ann Marie Carter

Barbara Ann Marie Carter, 58, of Dowagiac, Michigan passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph Michigan. She was born on May 27, 1963, to Jessie Carter and Barbara (Taylor) Jones in Dowagiac. Barbara graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1983. For the most part, she was a life-long Dowagiac resident. Barbara was one of the kindest, most caring people you would ever have the honor of knowing. She put others' needs before her own. Always a willing and available friend, ready to lend an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, or even a couch to crash on. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Jones. Barbara is survived by her son, Earl Campbell of Dowagiac; daughters, Erica Campbell and Latoya Brown both of Dowagiac; six grandchildren, Jamar Campbell, Emaria Campbell, Jameel McGee, Neavah Brown, Heavenly Brown, and Xavior Brown; siblings, Anthony Carter, Ava Lumpkin, Jessie “Jr” Carter, and Quincy Jones; along with a host of family and friends. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory may do so to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
