Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William “Bill” J. Kring, 73, of Niles, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
He was born September 21, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Roland and Mary (Martin) Kring.
After finishing high school, he married the love of his life, Susan Jean Sieczkarek on June 29, 1968, at the Saint Adelbert's Catholic Church in South Bend. Bill enlisted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam he was wounded, he carried his injury proudly, knowing he served faithfully.
Bill retired from Logan Industries, after being with the company for thirty-five years. His most treasured moments were spent with his beloved Susan, whether it was gardening, doing yard work, or helping her can the produce they grew in the garden. He was a doting Dziadzia “grandpa’ to his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In his free time, you would often find him fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Kring; his beloved wife Susan; siblings, Thomas Kring, Robert Kring, Joseph Kring, and Susan Marshall.
Bill is survived by his son, William “Bill” (Anna) Kring, Jr. of Vicksburg; his daughter, Melissa Edwin of Niles; his grandchildren, Chelsea (David Banicki) Ferenczi, Danny Ferenczi, Jr., Katelyn (Dylan) Jensen, Allison Kring, William Kring III, and Lynn Edwin; two great-grandchildren, Zander Banicki and Adelynn Banicki; his siblings, Ronald Kring, John (Sheryl) Kring, Sandy Asmus, Therese (William) Besemann, along with a host of extended family.
The Mass of Catholic Burial for William J. Kring will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Saint Mark Catholic Church by Father Peter Rocca, C.S.C., assisted by Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C. A committal service will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a recitation of The Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
In an effort to keep everyone healthy, the church has requested that everyone in attendance, please wear a mask, and follow CDC guidelines.
Bill was a loving, strong-willed man; he never knew the word CAN’T.
