Obituary of Betty Jean Beadle

Betty J. Beadle, 68, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Westwoods of Niles. On May 1, 1953, Albert and Virginia (Casselman) Cooper were elated when they welcomed Betty into their family in Elkhart, Indiana. Betty graduated from high school and went on to start a family of her own. Betty loved being a mother, but when she received the promotion of Memaw and Grandma BB, she found her true calling in life. Her life for many years was completely centered on caring and spending time with her grandchildren. Her knitting and crocheting even revolved around what she could make for her grandchildren, baby blankets were a common theme. As the grandchildren began to care for themselves, Betty began to get a little more comfortable with technology and loved to play on her phone. She is preceded by her parents Albert and Virginia Cooper. Betty is survived by her four children, Christina Cooper of Niles, Jennifer Hansford of Cassopolis, Paul Canen III of Cassopolis, and Annette Barnhart of Niles. Grandma BB or Memaw also leaves fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren to cherish her memory as well as a brother. In keeping with Betty’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private memorial service at a later date.
