Obituary of Daniel Andrew Blackwood

Daniel A. Blackwood, 30, of Berrien Springs passed away unexpectedly but of natural causes, Sunday, December 26, 2021 at his home. He was born in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky to Billy and Joyce (Samples) Blackwood on February 18, 1991. Daniel graduated from Killeen High School in Texas and shortly thereafter he and his family came back to their old stomping grounds in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Being a kid at heart, Daniel enjoyed R.C. race cars and not only had some unique race cars but was a pretty talented racer as well; this proved to show up again later in life when he started to snowmobile in the Sumnerville and Pokagon area with a group of friends. Later in life, he began became interested in both hydroponics and aquaponics and was in the beginning stages of setting up his own garden areas. Daniel will be remembered for his kind heart and ability to make others laugh. Daniel’s mother unfortunately passed just a few days after him on December 30, 2021. He is survived by his father, Billy Blackwood and his brothers, Billy Blackwood, Jr. of Berrien Springs and Joseph Samples of Arkansas. A joint memorial service to celebrate both Daniel and his mother, Joyce Blackwood at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, 945 Chippewa St, Buchanan, MI 49107 on February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honor of Daniel should do so to a charity of one’s choice.
