Obituary of Prentice Michael Lemons

Prentice Michael Lemons was a devoted husband, father, opa, and friend. He passed away peacefully at home on December 25th with loved ones at the age of 64. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Prentice. He loved a quiet evening with family and was an ardent animal lover. He was a master on the grill and got deep pride from cooking special meals for the family. God was his guide in everything he did, and he was defined by his unconditional love, support, and strength. In any situation, he was the first to offer a hug and the last to judge. He worked for many years at North American Forest Products/ Patrick Industries and retired in 2019. After his retirement, he and his wife, Elke Lemons, would spend their days outside enjoying nature. He was passionate about his faith and family above all else. He will be missed dearly. Prentice was preceded in passing by both of his parents, Audrey L. Lemons and Isaac W. Lemons; grandparents, Joyce (Covington) Byrd and Prentice Byrd; Aunt and Uncle, Delores and Johnnie Lemons; nephew, Christopher Lemons; and granddaughter, Dayonna Brown. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elke Lemons; children, Prentice Murphy, Isaac Murphy, Chris Jerabek, Donnette Lemons, Adam Jerabek, Andrea (Jeff) Rayburn, Prentia Lemons; siblings, Anthony Lemons, Ondrea “Sug” (Terry) Lemons; and grandchildren, Prentice Jr., Taylor, Haiven, Isaac Jr., Isaiah, Ilijah, Ivontre, Ineya, Ishauna, DeShawne, Dayon, Jaliana, Nylah, Alaysia, Fariah, Jonas, Madeline, Autumn, Charlotte, and Daniel. Funeral Services for Prentice will be held at the Faith For Life Church (Real Life), 1928 E. Bertrand Road, Niles, on Monday, January 3, 2022. A public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with ceremonies beginning at 12:00 p.m.
