Harriet Louise (Dings) McElheny, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Harriet was born on September 17, 1938, to the late Raymond and Opal (Dudley) Dings Sr. On July 21, 1956 she wed John McElheny at a ceremony in Dowagiac. Harriet and John were married for over 56 years and did almost everything together. Harriet loved going out to dinner, Prime Table was one of her favorite places to eat. One of her favorite things to do was ride around in the boat with her husband John while he went fishing. Harriet will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and siblings; Rachelle Simpson and Raymond Dings Jr. Harriet is survived by her brother, Jim Dings of Niles; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am. Chaplain Ellen Laan will be officiating and interment will follow the service at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
