Obituary of Billy Jo Meggs
Please share a memory of Billy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Billy Meggs, 51, of Niles passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home.
Doris (Earl) Wilson looked forward to the arrival of her son, and on September 9, 1970 in Independence, Louisiana he finally made his appearance.
Billy later moved here to Michigan where he met and married his wife Staci of 25 years. They celebrated the arrival of their son, Tyler. Tyler was taught by his parents how to love and raise a family. Billy was adored by his wife Staci. They took so much pride the life they created together. They enjoyed riding their SXS and horses. They also spent countless hours completing many projects around the farm they built together. In their free time, they most enjoyed spending time with their granddaughter, Olivia.
He was a man of many talents and could fix anything that was placed in front of him. Billy loved spending time working on projects such as restoring gas pumps, old pop machines, and his 68 Chevelle. He was a man that was always busy working and had a passion to help others through volunteer work or projects around friends and families’ homes. Billy took great pride in his job of 20 years at Midwest Energy & Communications of Cassopolis. He finished his career as Supervisor of Propane Operations. His coworkers were his second family, and he was most known for his sense of humor and ability to light up a room.
He is survived by his wife, Staci (Onken) Meggs of Niles; his son, Tyler (Kassie) Meggs of Edwardsburg; his mother, Doris Wilson of South Bend and his pride and joy, Olivia May “Liv” Meggs. Billy is also survived by his siblings, Vince Todd of Arkansas and Nannette (Justin) Bennett of Dowagiac; nieces, Kamyrah, Tiny and Tilly, and “The Girls”of Niles.
Services to celebrate Billy will take place Thursday, December 9, 2021, Brown Funeral Home, at 7p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 4 p.m.
