Obituary of Kenneth Brook

Kenneth “Kenny” “Stony” Paul Brook, 66, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Kenny was born on April 18, 1955, to the late Paul and Rita (Reszewski) Brook in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1975 and went on to become a journeyman concrete finisher. Kenny was a very spiritual person, he encompassed compassion. His love of humanity was felt by those he met and shared with. He was a true extension of the creator’s life energy and flow of love and instilled his beliefs in his children and grandchildren. Kenny lived for the outdoors, he frequently went hiking, backpacking, fishing, and hunting. He loved writing, reading, and being a student of the universe. He frequently went bicycling and jogging to keep his mind and body healthy. As much as Kenny loved the outdoors, there was only one thing he loved more, that was his family. Anyone who knew Kenny also knew Floyd the chicken; Floyd was Kenny’s spirit animal who would pop up when his kids least expected it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rita Brook, and his former wife, Kathryn Brook. Kenny is survived by his children, Kandace DeMeyer of Niles, Kenneth (Anastacia) Brook of Niles, Carleigh Renea Brook of Niles, and Sophia Brook of St. Joseph; former wife, Dawn Marie Brook of Niles; former wife, Heather Harrison Brook of St. Joseph; granddaughters, Ashton, Maddison, Payton, and Rhylann; and many extended family members and close friends. A memorial service to celebrate Kenny’s life will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Brown Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers may do so to Wreaths Across America.
