Obituary of Cody Cee Martin

Cody Cee Martin, 61, of Niles, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, at his residence on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born on November 28, 1959 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late James E. Martin and Ida B. Jordan. After graduating high school, Cody furthered his education and obtained an associate’s degree in electrical engineering. He was currently employed at Delivery Concepts, Inc. in Indiana. Cody was gifted at fixing just about anything, including cars. He never knew a stranger and was a friend to all who met him. When he could convince himself to take a break, he’d spend that time fishing. Cody also spoiled his “granddogs”, that he said he didn’t want, often sneaking them food. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carrie Ann Martin and a brother Lee Martin. Cody is survived by his longtime companion, Carmella Hunt of Niles; his children, Nicole Martin (Christopher Denney) of Mishawaka, Indiana and Michael Martin (Calista Smith) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his siblings, Nettie (Mike) Woods of Niles, Eloise Martin (Dontrell) of South Bend, Michael Martin of Niles, John Martin of South Bend, and Bettie Ann Martin of Gainesville, Florida. He will also be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Bryant L. Bacon Sr. officiating. A time of visitation will begin on Friday at Noon and an interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. The family has requested all in attendance to wear a mask and practice social distancing to keep everyone safe.
