Obituary of William Richard Allerton

William Allerton, 84, of Dowagiac, passed away at his home on Monday, July 30, 2012. William was born on May 30, 1928 to the late Donald and Anna (Wiltrakis) Allerton. William was in the United States Army and a current member of the V.F.W. He was a great wood worker and turned it in to a profession that he loved, making patterns for several companies. After he retired William couldn't sit idly by so he took on a job as a greeter at Walmart in Benton Harbor. After 13 years of working there he had to retire due to his health in 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, son William Allerton Jr., two grandchildren, a brother Gene Allerton and daughter-in-law Janice Allerton. William is survived by his children Timothy Allerton of Dowagiac, Michigan, Terry (Doug) McIntyre of Decatur, Michigan, Sherry (George) Dunn of Stevensville, Michigan, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and siblings Linda Castellanos of Sturgis, Michigan and Paul (Luba) Allerton of Fairplane, Michigan The family will be hosting a get together at the VFW Post 1137 on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
