William Transou, Sr. 70, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Chalet of Niles. He was born to the late Henry and Jessie Mae (Harris) Transou on September 24, 1946 in Dowagiac, Michigan, the eldest of six. William enjoyed watching all sports; he was an avid Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He was known for being fun and outgoing. When he children were younger they fondly remember him and all of the activities he always had planned for them. His family has always been his top priority. He was a loving father and a dedicated family man. William Loved spending time with family and friends. William left high school to be a dedicated worker for the Jessup Door Company for over thirty-three years, until the doors closed on the only job he had ever had. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lester Grays. He is survived by his two daughters; Angelettia (Darrell) Sanders of Indianapolis and Jessica Williams of Lansing, his three sons; William Transou, Jr. of Dowagiac, Will Hinkle of Indianapolis, and Chauncey (Naomi) Hinkle of Indianapolis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sisters Rose Transou, Stacey (Mike) Transou-Gilcrese, and brothers, Henry Transou and Melvin (Connie) Transou. Homegoing celebration will be Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Stepping Stone, located at 214 Miller St. in Dowagiac.
