Obituary of John Landrum
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Landrum, 69, of Niles, passed away peacefully at West Woods of Bridgman on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
John was born on September 22, 1951, to the late Ralph and Mary (Kiser) Landrum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
After getting through 7th grade John, like many other men of his time, stopped going to school and started working on the farm with his family. As time passed John eventually started working as a general laborer in the manufacturing industry.
He was known to enjoy the little things in life, rock and roll being one of them. It was a rare occasion that he listened to anything but the 107.1 radio station. John grew up with two other brothers, Ralph and Dennis, and between the three of them, there was enough plenty of fun to be had. The three of them were known to get together and enjoy a cold beverage, Natural Light being John’s drink of choice, and the only beer he would drink. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on miscellaneous projects and was good with most work that involved using his hands. In his later years, John befriended a cat named Jadie, who was arguably one of his best companions towards the end. John also enjoyed a lot of his time with his lifelong friend Robin. John was a simple man and only needed a few things to find happiness; his friends, his family, rock and roll, and an ice-cold beer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Mary; one of his brothers, Dennis Landrum; and his most loyal companion, Jadie the cat.
Brian is survived by his brother, Ralph; his nephew, William Landrum; his niece-in-law, Shawnette Baker; and his lifelong friend, Robin.
The family will be celebrating John’s life in private at a later date.
