Obituary of Jimmy Wayne Short

Jimmie Wayne Short, 70, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Niles, after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late William A. and Floy L. (Watson) Short. On December 29, 1989 Jimmie married Marlene K. Shidler. After graduating high school Jimmie went on to serve his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. After many years of dedicated service, Jimmie retired from the Marines. He was a truck driver for many years and loved traveling the U.S. He also loved to ride his motorcycle, spend time fishing, watching television or enjoying a cup of coffee with Marlene. Jimmie also loved all of the dogs he had. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson David Short. Jimmie is survived by his wife Marlene Short of Berrien Springs, three daughters Julie Strunk of Berrien Center, Terry Zimmerle of Arizona, Tabitha (& Vance) Russell of Niles, a son Daniel Hartley of Berrien Center, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers Gerald (Geraldine) Short of North Carolina and William E. Short of Paw Paw, and two sisters Dorothy Thurlow of Coloma and Joyce (& Phil) Lunsford of Florida.
