Obituary of Saran Brock

Saran J. Brock, 79, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Riverridge Nursing Home in Niles, Michigan. She was born in Niles, Michigan on November 18, 1941, to the late Robert and Ethel (Hoekstra) Peters. After graduating from Niles High School, Saran married the love of her life Dwayne Brock, on June 4th, 1960 at Bethel Baptist Church in Niles. Saran was a stay-at-home mother while her children were young. She later went to work at Niles Chemical Bank for several years and finished her working career as a cashier at the pharmacy in Wal-Mart. Saran was an accomplished vocalist, singing was her passion. She sang with several local ladies groups though-out her lifetime; a few being The Eastern Star ladies group, and the Rainbows End Quartet. Saran loved singing in the praise team at her church, using her voice to glorify God. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bobby Peters; and a daughter, Kimberly Simpson. Saran is survived by her husband, Dwayne Brock of Niles; daughter, Lori (Jeff) Schultz of Grand Ledge Michigan; son, Ronald Brock of Niles; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Gwen West, Judy Swanson, and Nellie Delong. A memorial service will be held at Hope Community Church at a later date. Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Hope Community Church.
