James “Jim” Albert Johnson, Jr., 69, of Niles, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
Jim was born on February 24, 1952, to the late James and Betha (Nichols) Johnson in Wilson, Arkansas. At the age of two Jim’s dad passed away. Jim’s mom later wed Robert L. Eggert who stepped up and raised Jim and his siblings. Jim joined the United States Navy after school. He later became a Security Guard for Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, Indiana where he stayed for over ten years.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson, Sr. and his step-father, Robert Eggert.
Jim is survived by his mother, Betha Eggert of Michigan City; five children, Jamie Conklin, Teri Bronson, Adam Johnson, Brandon Johnson, and Cory Johnson; siblings, Margaret Maitland of New Buffalo, Donna (Danny) Duke of LaPorte, Tina Peck of Michigan City, and Lisa (Pat) Wood of Michigan City; and many extended family members and close friends.
Jim will be cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
