ELIZABETH JEAN (BROWN) STEHLIK, 86 years old, was born Feb 8, 1935 in Chicago. She was escorted to heaven on May 24, 2021 in Niles, MI. Her parents are, the late Robert Lee Brown (1910-1983) McAllen TX, and Ann Rose (Rogers) Pfannenschmidt, Dowagiac MI (1912 – 1977). Her surviving siblings are brother Joseph (Ruth Ellen) Brown of Oakland Park, FL, and sister Rosemary (Brown) Szulc of Ft. Lauderdale FL and her late siblings are Robert (Joann) Brown (1977) of Chicago IL, Roger (Helen) Brown (2010) of Schereville, IN, and Ed Pfannenschmidt (2020) of Niles MI.
Elizabeth raised her eight surviving children at Indian Lake in Dowagiac Michigan; Sandra Pawlowski, Foley AL, Stanley Pawlowski, Gulf Shores AL, Laurie (Mike) Dinkins, Orange Beach AL, Debra (Puckley) Parker, Foley AL, Bobby Puckley, Summerdale AL, Elizabeth Stehlik, Buchanan MI, Georgina Joy Stehlik, Benton Harbor MI, and Cheryl (Jack) Powell, Tustin MI.
Elizabeth was an advocate for her grandchildren; Eric Sorenson, Tiffani (Michael)Pruitt, Ricky Howard, Bronson Parker all in Alabama. Michael, Rachel and Juliana Velez, Hunter, Cole, and Jacklynne Powell, Kyle (Haley) Owen, Kamielle (Adam) Litaker, George Owen, Heather LaValley, & Nicholas (Tara) Puckley all in Michigan, Megan Glynn, KS, and Dustin Sherwood, TN. She has eleven great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was naturally beautiful inside and out, enjoyed swimming, and was very lucky playing bingo and loved to be at home cooking, playing cards, and Skip-bo with her children and grandchildren. She was such a joy to be around, funny, witty, clever, entertaining, and befriended people everywhere she went. She was adored by all who knew her and was always surrounded by her children and grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Elizabeth was a devote Catholic and her family rests assured that she is our guardian angel that will continue to have a presence. She will be buried at the Calvery Cemetery in Dowagiac near her mother and her children will plan a celebration of her life in the near future.
