Obituary of Wayne Frederick Jonas

Wayne F. Jonas, 84, of Niles, passed away at Riveridge Manor in Niles on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Wayne was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on May 29, 1936, to the late Emmath and Martha (Blum) Jonas. Wayne married the former June Lewis in Cadillac, Michigan on September 15, 1956. He graduated from Elgin Watch College in Elgin, Illinois in 1956. He was employed at Thayer’s Jewelers for 35 years before he retired in 2001. Wayne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, June; son, Jeffrey (Jean) Jonas of Niles; granddaughter, Melissa (Michael) Johnson; and great-grandsons, Riley and Nolan.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, he has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
