Obituary of William Frederick Hartstein III

William “Buzz” F. Hartstein III, 71, of Niles, passed away at his home on Friday, April 23, 2021, following a brief illness. He was born on January 10, 1950, in Niles, Michigan, to the late, William and Vivian (Pfiefer) Hartstein II. William graduated from Brandywine High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army. William married Charlene Nix, at the Niles courthouse on March 31, 1978. He worked for several years driving semi-truck for Greybar Electrical. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing with friends, family vacations, especially to French Lick, Indiana, and spending time with his grandchildren. William loved cheering on his favorite college team, Notre Dame; and the Chicago Bears football team. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Hartstein, step-mother, Loretta Hartstein; sister, Patricia Baxter; and a grandson, Tyler Layton. William is survived by his wife, Charlene Hartstein of Niles; son Bill (Sabrena) Hartstein of Niles; daughters, Brandy Hartstein of Granger; Shauna Densborn of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Stormie, Alyssa, Ashley, Hailey, Victoria, Moses; great-granddaughter, Stella; siblings, Lynn (Lonnie) Langston, Bryan (Linda Czarnecki) Hartstein, Cindy (John) Pardy, Randy (Patti Moebius) Hartstein, and Sharon Bryers; along with a host of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
