Obituary of Ida B. Jordan

Ida B. Jordan January 16, 1935 ~ August 30, 2012 Ida B. Jordan, of Buchanan, formerly of Niles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1935 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late James and Pearl (Jones) Jordan. Ida had a strong faith and was dedicated to serving others. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, fishing and cooking. Ida was known far and wide for her sweet potato pie. She was a member of the Niles Westside Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband James Jordan, a daughter Carrie Martin and two brothers Roger Scott Thomas and Daniel Morris Thomas. Ida is survived by seven children; Lee (Josie) Martin of South Carolina, Cody Martin of Niles, Bettie Ann Martin of Gainesville, Florida, Nettie B (Michael) Woods of Niles, Eloise Martin- (Dwight) Hunter of South Bend, John Martin of Niles and Michael Martin of Niles, four brothers; John Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, Jessie Thomas of Syracuse, New York, David Thomas of Orlando, Florida, Charles Arthur Thomas of Key West, Florida, two sisters Earline Rogers of Syracuse, New York and Hattie James of Orlando, Florida, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at noon at Brown Funeral Home, Niles with visitation one hour prior.
