I remember Mrs. Weller (as I knew her as) when I was growing up at Howard School in Niles. She was a room mother. Her son, Blane and my brother were in the same grade. I moved from Niles for many year and moved back over 8 yrs ago and started to attend my church as a child which is St. Mark. I recognized this beautiful face at mass one day. We never really talked but would give each other a nice gesture and said hi once in a while. She always dressed so classy and was a beautiful woman. I last saw her in church just before Easter and then when I didn't see her the next Saturday (we attended the 4 p.m. mass on Saturdays) I was kind of concerned. Then I overheard one of the parishioners talk to Br. Dennis about someone who "was just here last Saturday and now she's gone!" I didn't know he was talking about Mrs. Weller. I will miss her lovely face at church. My condolences to the family.

I was so sorry to hear of Nedie's passing--Brenda and Blaine, you have my deepest sympathy. I had so much fun back in the day with your mom and her sisters, the time I went with all of them and your grandmother to the UP and Mackinac Island was one of the most enjoyable trips I've ever taken in my life. I went out to lunch at the Fireside in Edwardsburg with your mom and Ruth Johnson, Moe's widow, about 3 years ago, and we had so much fun telling old stories. So glad we got together then. We always meant to do it again, but Ruth died the following year and now your mom and even the Fireside is gone. I think Tuesday was the day that the siblings always got together, hope they are all having a wonderful reunion today! Randy Griffin
