I'm so sorry to hear of Kent's passing, He was my cousin and I have many sweet memories of visiting him & his family in Battle Creek many summers. He always had a sweet smile that I remember & he was fun to share music information with - he really know what he was talking about. He's in a better place with his brother and parents and other relatives.
All my love and condolences to Val & Carla and Meredith.

My condolences on the passing of Kent. I remember Kent and Craig during high school times since I and six siblings Roger, Susan, Robin, Leroy Tracy, and Bruce lived across the Brandywine Creek from their house on Bond Street. Our father, Herbert Schmidt, sharpened blades for their lawnmower. friend Alan Schmidt

Kent will be missed. His love and knowledge of music was boundless. He knew I was fond of Dylan. Kent created what was probably one of the most generous gifts of my life. Unsolicited and by surprise to me, he compiled a 15 DVD series of every Dylan appearance ever recorded for me, all indexed, labeled, and cataloged. It was an amazingly generous act that only an aficionado of music would consider let alone be able to accomplish. Only someone with Kent’s passion would tackle it. I will continue to enjoy that collection for a long time to come. Thank you, Kent. RIP Brother.
"When you’re sad and when you’re lonely,
And you haven’t got a friend,
Just remember that death is not the end.
And all that you’ve held sacred,
Falls down and does not mend,
Just remember that death is not the end."

To my Big Bro, I miss you terribly. I cannot believe that you have left this Earth as you were so strong and overcame what most could not bear. I am blessed that happy memories have flooded my mind. You had such an amazing and deep knowledge of music and you shared it to the delight of others. You loved to play your guitar, and we played together with me on the organ. We both shared a love of writing and wrote so many letters to each other, and I kept them all. Back in November when we were packing up to move, I re-read some old letters you wrote when you were in the Navy. I only wish that you had one of your books published, but you always had the dream. That itself is an accomplishment as so many of us forget how to even reach for a dream. You used to love getting clothes from Mom for Christmas and would try them on as soon as you opened the box. Kirsten reminded me how you used to drive us anywhere we wanted when we were kids. Remember when we explored the woods? I always felt safe when you were there. I know you are in the Kingdom, happily exploring and going on new adventures. You can let yourself be you, unabashedly outgoing and friendly to a fault, and all will delight in your amazing mind. I could write my own book about you, but cannot do it here. When I go to the Kingdom, I will be looking for you to take my hand and show me what you have discovered! I love you so much and rejoice that you are in peace in one of the many mansions. Love, your Little Sis Carla
