My deepest sympathy for Sandi, Shawn and Shannon and I will miss my cousin Ray. I will particularly miss our conversations about our Fulbright grandparents (their Buchanan "farm", Grandma's flower garden, Ray driving Jim home after mail box encounter, ...) and his role as Pastor Ray. I will always remember Ray as a "Kind Soul" and we all need more like Ray. I guess God and Heaven needed Ray more. Please say "Hi" to Aunt Sally.

So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I met Ray and Sandi many years ago when I was serving as a Deacon and later, an Elder at First Presbyterian Church. It was wonderful seeing him fulfill his calling to be a servant of our Lord. He was a great man, and I feel blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with Sandi and the rest of the family. He will be missed.

Pastor Ray and Sandi. Will always remember the day you were called to St. John's UCC as our pastor and leader with a wonderful wife and helpmate. As I remember, it was an unanimous vote and I think Joan practically danced down the aisle with the voting results. It was a day of joy, thankfulness and celebration. In some ways, it seems like a long time ago and in others, such a short time. You have served your congregation with loyalty, steadfastness, leadership and love through times of sadness, sorrow, heartbreak, times of unrest and uncertainty but also through the good times, victories, joys and celebrations. You were and will always be remembered as a great example. You encouraged and instructed your church family to serve and worship our God. In addition, you and Sandi became wonderful, loving friends to all our church family. Visitors were welcomed with open arms and invited to always come again. You preformed the wedding ceremony for our daughter, Jen and husband, Shaun. (What a HOT and beautiful day that was!) You baptized three of our grandchildren. Thank you for the wonderful memories. You were always there with an open door and a smile, inviting all to come in .Visitors were welcomed with open arms and always invited to come again It is with sadness we say goodbye but rejoice that you are in your heavenly home and God has embraced his faithful, devoted servant into His loving arms. We remember you with love and as you always said "Peace be with you" In Christian Love, Ed and Mary.

To Sandi, Shannon, & Shawn.
I cannot begin to say how incredibly sorry and heartbroken I am to hear this news.
To me no greater measurement of a human being is but the impact and impression that they leave behind. Even though it has been a while since we have interacted there are so few days when I don’t think of you, a story, or a memory that doesn’t cross my mind. I could go on for many hours of the great times and wonderful recollections that I will always have to truly cherish.
Ever since I was introduced to you I was treated with such incredible warmth and kindness even though I was warned I would have to “get past the barrier”. What can you say, every Dad should want that for their daughter. That to me, is so admirable and begins to tell the story of the type of person you were.
I was so happy & proud that I was able to call you my Dad, if only for a while. As I write this condolence (with tears now flowing) I will never be able to thank you enough for your kindness, generosity, and the feeling of being welcomed into your family. Your sense of humor was right up my alley and I will never forget the laughs and good times that I was able to be a part of.
The trip to Disney World, the time that all of us went to Chicago to tour Wrigley Field (& Shawn turned us sideways as it began to rain before getting onto Lake Shore Dr......sorry Shawn, we can laugh about it now), and the many, many evenings going out to dinner together to name but a few.
I am forever grateful of you sponsoring our softball team for several years and being at every game. Not just being there cheering us on, but taking pictures, bringing a cooler of drinks for the team, and most of all being the biggest fan!
I will never forget the constant chiding and bantering that we would trade over our favorite Chicago baseball team, you with your Cubs, and me my White Sox (or the other team in Chicago as you would often refer). Even though I know that you preferred that Michigan State football team over my beloved Irish, I will never forget the day that you went to a Notre Dame football game with me and the tailgating we did prior to. That to me, is going the extra mile to show me what kind of man one ought to be.
Thanks for sharing many words of wisdom with me. One that comes to mind is you teaching me the nuances of shopping with your spouse. I remember you saying that if a garment is picked out and you hear the words “precious” or “adorable”, to just start heading for the checkout counter with your wallet out. Profoundly true even to this day!
Thanks for making Christmas mornings & day such a wonderful time. The set of golf clubs with the Notre Dame bag is still in use and I will never be getting rid of them.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible admiration that I got to witness with the marriage that you had. The love that you and Sandi (Mom) had was truly special and one that I truly envied.
It was with such joy the few lucky times that I got to bump into you within the last 10-15 years. I only wish that there had been more. When you told me that you had become a minister, I was pleasantly surprised. With that being said I couldn’t have been more happy for you and Sandi (Mom)! With your story-telling abilities, I’ll bet that you were a great teacher of God!
To your extended family and friends, again my deepest condolences. A lesson to hold your loved ones close as life is short; so fragile and precious.
Ray (Dad), please know that I will never forget you and the true impact that you had on my life. Although the life that you lived here on Earth may be gone, the memories made can never be taken away!
Heaven surely has gained a most wonderful soul!
Sincerely,
Kurt Kronewitter

Sandy and Family,
It is with sadness that we learned about Ray's passing. We know where he is. He's with his Heavenly Father. Bob and I have known you since all of us lived in the Maple Leaf Mobile Home Park off of US 31 North. It is there where our daughter Annette and your son Shawn would play together. I still have the photo of them kissing! It was also there that we invited you and Ray to attend our church and where you both gave your hearts to the Lord under the leadership of Rev. Bob Younts. Yes, Ray will be missed by so many who love him, but he will not be forgotten. Bless you and your family and remember you will meet again. Love, Bob & Becky Jackson

Ray was a story teller. Didn't help that I am gullible! I would look at Sandi. She would shake her head no and roll her eyes. This happened quite often during all the times the four of us spent together. I finally told Ray unless he was at St Johns all I heard coming out of his mouth was BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!! He was our Pastor. But he was a great friend. We enjoyed riding together too. Paul and I will miss him. Prayers to the Fulbright family.
