Obituary of William Jerry Archer

William Jerry Archer, 74, of Niles, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home. He was born to the late N. Orvil and Tula Colona (Blackard) Archer in Buchanan, Michigan on June 12, 1946. Late in life Jerry met and fell in love with Judy McIntrye. At a ceremony in Owensboro, Kentucky William and Judy wed on May 16, 1997. After school Jerry began his career in both construction and maintenance. He had a great mind for all things mechanical and was very adept and fixing any problem a lawn mower might have. He enjoyed relaxing in his favorite chair watching football or many of the classic television shows that he watched as a younger man, including Little House on the Prairie. Jerry also enjoyed trips that he and Judy took to the casinos. Jerry is preceded in passing by his parents and his brother, Nolan Archer, and his sister, Doris Wimberley. He is survived by his wife Judy Archer of Niles, his children, Jason (Mary) Archer of Colorado; Jay Archer of Colorado; Judy’s sons, Michael (Becky) McIntyre of South Bend; Robert (Liz) McIntyre of Niles; James (Aimee) McIntyre of Niles; Tim (Sarah) McIntyre of Niles; Richard (Ginger) McIntyre of Mishawaka; and Daniel (Keara) McIntyre of Niles. William is also survived by his grandchild, eight step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren, his siblings; Bob (Linda) Archer, Carlos (Carol) Archer, Glen (Joann) Archer, Norma (Larry) Clayton all of Michigan and Edna Exum of Arkansas. Private services to celebrate Jerry’s life will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
