Devin H. Williams, 27, of Benton Harbor, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Benton Harbor. He was born on November 21, 1993 in Berrien Center, Michigan to Robert Lewis and Teretha Williams, and lovingly raised by Leroy Buckner, Jr. Devin was a proud 2012 graduate of Coloma High School. His thirst for knowledge lead him to colleges in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Lake Michigan College, where he strived to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He excelled in athletic skills, playing football, basketball, and his favorite sport baseball. Devin was proud to have played for the Diamond Jaxx baseball team, winning several championships, also winning a football championship this year. Devin became a member of New Bethel Church on August 4, 2019, and remained there until his un-timely passing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mitchell and Juanita Williams; , his father figure Leroy Buckner Jr.; nephew, Marcus Purnell Jr., cousin, Juan Stevens; and aunts, Barbara Williams , Diann Williams; uncle, Johnny Jones, God-mother, Neceda Gillespie-Hill. Devin will forever be remembered by his father, Robert H. Lewis; mother, Teretha Williams; his companion DeShanique Jefferson-Lipkins; their children, Nala Williams, Devyn Williams and Noa Williams; his brothers, Bruce (Tiffanni) Benson, Jr., Marcas Purnell and Rodney King; his sisters, Aja (Johnny) Warren, Sharina Booker, Taekisha Smith, LaTiya Lewis and Kalyiah Williams; second set of parents, Jamie and Stephan Dawson; heaven sent grandparents, Mitchell and Juanita Williams, Sr.; special grand-mother figures, Gladys Buckner, and Faith Jefferson-Bennett; Godfather, Rodney Alexander, Sr.; father figures, Marcus Williams and Danny Jennings; God-brothers, Stephen Hampton, Larry Harden, Dontrail Stephens, and Tarrie Landry; God-sister: Shannon Ballard; special cousins, DeVonte Browning, Shaquon Smith, DeMario Williams, De’Shayila Williams, Tony Williams, and Ronald L. Williams Jr., host of Aunts, Uncles,Cousins and friends. A Homegoing Celebration will take place be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Second Baptist Church, 600 Donald Adkins Dr., Benton Harbor Michigan 49022. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main St, Niles Michigan 49120. In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines. The State of Michigan requires all in attendance to follow all guidelines including, social distancing, mandatory mask and sanitizing.
