Obituary of Debra Ann Gross

Debra Ann Gross, 66, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 after suffering from complications of COVID. Debbie was born on April 21, 1954, in Niles to the late Richard and Doris (Ewing) Sater. Debbie was one of seven children growing up. She later had three children of her own, Kim and Jasen. On August 25, 1996, Debbie married David Gross at a ceremony in Richmond, Virginia; this year the two celebrated 24 years of marriage. Debbie loved to decorate for every holiday sometimes even crafting her own items. Her family was the most important thing to her. As a mom she always had dinner made for her children, as a wife she was the most devoted and caring spouse, as a grandma she was a constant companion and friend. Debbie had a heart of gold and was the most selfless person you could meet; she never met a stranger that wasn’t a friend by the end of their conversation. Debbie also liked to frequent the casino, go to garage sales, and shop until her heart was content. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Doris Sater; daughter, Erica Brown; brother, Jeff Sater; and sister, Ramona Sater. Debbie is survived by her husband, David Gross; children, Kimberly (Ashley Taylor) Brown of Niles and Jasen Brown of Chester, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Shelly) Sater of Niles, Ralph Sater of Niles, John (Stacey) Sater of South Bend, and Bruce Sater of Niles; and many extended family members and close friends. Debbie has been cremated and her family will be remembering her privately. Those interested in making a memorial donation in Debbie’s honor may do so to the family in care of her daughter, Kim.
