Obituary of Carmella Alice Medlin

Carmella A. Medlin, 89, of Niles, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020; three days shy of her ninetieth birthday, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1930, to the late Dominico and Angelina (Piscopo) Fedele. On June 27, 1953, she married the love of her life, Dewain E. Medlin in Chicago. To that union, they were blessed with seven children. Carmella was the consummate homemaker; she was an avid gardener, and a wonderful cook. Carmella enjoyed finding new ideas on Pinterest, whether it was baking, sewing, crocheting, or knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewain Medlin; and her son, LeRoy E. Medlin. Carmella is survived by her children, John (Jacalyn) Medlin of Dowagiac; Michael (Susan) Medlin of Eau Claire; Tony (Ruth) Medlin of Eau Claire; Sherie (David) Davis of Eau Claire; Mark (Nina) Medlin of Eau Claire; and Dewain (Jackie) Medlin of Sodus; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Isabelle Spata, and Josephine Circelli. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
