Obituary of Arthur Linden Bowman

Arthur Bowman, 93, of Cassopolis, was ushered home by his Lord on November 5, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born to the late Roscoe and Meda (McClure) Bowman in Eau Claire, Michigan on June 14, 1927. After graduating from high school he went on to serve his country proudly during the end of World War II. Upon returning home he wed his beautiful bride, Lois Poehlman, on June 26, 1949 at a ceremony in Cassopolis. They recently were blessed to celebrate 71 years of wedded bliss. He worked for over 37 years at Tyler Refrigeration and was able to enjoy many years of retirement. He enjoyed hunting, was an accomplished man of word search puzzles, and the go-to-guy for heating and cooling repair. Growing up during the Great Depression and a true servant of God, Arthur was always thankful for what he had; he desired very little of material things and was always concerned for others and their needs. Every morning when he awoke, he took time to thank the Lord for the gift of another day and would pray for God to guide him that day and for the needs of many friends and family members. An example of a Godly man, Arthur was slow to anger and according to scriptures, God gave him wisdom liberally. He is preceded in passing by his parents, and his brother Edward Bowman. Arthur is survived by his wife, Lois, his children Randy (Marilyn) Bowman of Niles, his daughter Peggy (Terry) Ellis of Edwardsburg, his four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and his brother Alvin (Irma) Bowman of Florida. The family will gather privately at Brown Funeral Home for funeral services and an interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
