Obituary of Dick Kendall

Richard “Dick” Kendall, 71, of Niles, Michigan passed away unexpectedly but of natural causes Tuesday, September 23, 2020 at his home.
In Benton Harbor, Michigan on April 23, 1949, Donald and Irene Kendall welcomed Dick and his twin brother Donald into this world.
After graduating from Brandywine High School in 1966, Dick went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1967-1971. While serving in the military, Dick married Patricia Carpenter, his high school sweetheart, she preceded him in January of 2002. Dick was retired from Wolverine Pipeline following many years of service, where he worked as a pipeline operator.
On September 21, 2018 Dick wed Tracy Anstiss at a ceremony in Cass County.
Outside of work Dick was an avid outdoorsman and the numerous gifts nature afforded him. Dick enjoyed his opportunities to travel and loved to sit around camp with his friends and family. He loved to fish and hunt with his beagles and took great pleasure watching the birds visit his various bird feeders. Dick also remained involved with his fellow comrades and was a part of the AMVETS club even serving as a past commander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Patricia Kendall; daughter Martina Marina in 2019 as well two sisters, Patricia Vickery and Carol Alspaugh.
Dick is survived by his wife, Tracy Kendall of Niles; daughter, Mandi Kendall and her fiancé Graham Jones of Chesterton, Indiana; step-daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer Ralston of Niles; grandsons, Isaiah Marina of South Bend, Elijah Horton of Chesterton; step-grandchildren, Kelli, Kenny and Samantha Wells and Isabella Chelowski; his twin brother, Donald (Sheryl) Kendall of Niles.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honor of Dick have been asked to consider the Shriner’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
Services to honor Dick’s life will take place Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home starting at 11:30 a.m. with a time of visitation an hour prior, with a committal service at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Services have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Niles.
