Obituary of Dean Alton Stanage

Dean Stanage, 54, of Niles, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020, at his home. Dean was born on November 9, 1965, to Dean and Linda (Colcord) Stanage in Portsmouth, Virginia. After high school, he became a respiratory therapist. In his free time, Dean loved to deer hunt and walk the trails with his three great-nieces, Khloe, Kirra, and Laila. Though Dean had many nieces and nephews he had a very special bond with his nephew, Kyle Dean Stanage, who is currently serving in the Marine Corp. in Japan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Preissler. Dean is survived by his mother, Linda Stanage of Niles; father Dean Stanage Sr. of Bridgman; children, Carson Stanage of Edwardsburg and Shelby (Alex) Whalen of Park Falls, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Autumn; siblings, Maureen (Frank) McDonald of Niles and Tonya (Jeffrey) Witman of Niles; and many extended family members and close friends. Dean has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Dean’s memory may do so to his mother by mailing donations to the funeral home.
