Obituary of Robert William Vermilyer

Robert “Bob” W. Vermilyer, 63, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Bob was born on September 13, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Robert and Joyce (Mourning) Vermilyer On June 30, 2010, he married Laurie Beach at the First Baptist Church in Niles. Bob was a founding member of several bands; Country Thunder, Flipside, and Silver Eagle, he loved his bands and enjoyed playing music with his friends. Bob was a very proud owner of a 1981 Harley Shovel Head motorcycle; he never missed the opportunity to ride. Bob loved his family; he loved spending as much time as possible with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joyce Vermilyer. Bob is survived by his wife, Laurie Vermilyer of Niles; sons, Robert Vermilyer of Cassopolis; William Vermilyer of Niles; Bradley Vermilyer of Cassopolis; Bryan Kancauski of Cassopolis; step-sons, Shane Johnson of Niles; David Johnson of Dowagiac; grandchildren; Matthew, Damon, Tyler, Rayleigh, Jordan, Charlie, Korie, and Shane Johnson Jr a brother William Rose of South Bend; and a sister, Linda Vermilyer of England. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to his wife Laurie.
