Obituary of Leslie Ashby

L. Bruce Ashby, 71, of Irons, Michigan passed away at his son's home, in Baroda, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Bruce was born on July 2, 1941 to the late George and Gladys (Menges) Ashby in Benton Harbor. As a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Bruce also worked as a Boilermaker and welder until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Sue Allen. Bruce is survived by his children Brent (Lorraine) Ashby, Todd (Carey) Ashby, Jason Ashby and Derek (Pepper) Ashby, all of Baroda, Michigan, 11 grandchildren, siblings Patricia Ashby of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kay (Mike) Duffy of Florida and Kenneth Ashby of South Carolina and countless friends and loved ones. A Memorial Reception for family and friends will be held at the St. Joe Kickers Sport Club, Berrien Springs, Michigan, on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 6 to 9 pm. His family will be holding a private burial in Irons, Michigan at a later time.
