Kenneth M. Allen, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away unexpectedly, but of natural causes, at home on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Ken was born on May 10, 1942, to the late Creed and Mary (Fields) Allen in Union Mills, Indiana. He was one of six children growing up in the Allen household and after graduating from North Judson High School, Ken joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. On November 2, 1974, he wed Judy Behrens at a ceremony in Moscow, Idaho. Ken enjoyed sales and being a business owner and manager. When he wasn’t working Ken was almost always outside. He loved the outdoors, spending time in the mountains, and animals. He was preceded in death by his parents Creed and Mary Allen; his wife, Judy who passed away four months to the day before him; siblings, Mildred Patrick, Creedith White, Roger Allen, and Creed Allen Jr.; and grandson, Logan. Ken is survived by his sons, Brian (Stacey) Allen of Niles and Mark (Erin Ecker) Allen of Plymouth, Indiana; grandchildren, Kyle (Allison) Coleman of Granger, Taylor (Josh) Doss of Henderson, Nevada, Siarrah Allen of Oklahoma, Rodney Allen of Paw Paw, Collin and Cody Allen both of Plymouth; sister, Betty White of Wyoming; and many extended family members and close friends. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, he has been cremated. His family will be hosting a memorial service this summer at their home.
