Obituary of Fay Ann Walter

Fay A. Walter, 87, of Niles, passed away at Westwoods of Niles on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Fay was born on October 20, 1932, to the late Emerick and Joy (Livengood) VanLue in Niles. She was one of five children. On Christmas Eve in 1954 Fay wed the love of her life, Clifford Walter, at a ceremony in Buchanan. The two have enjoyed over 65 years of marriage. She had a love for books, garage sales, and camping with family and friends. She loved baking, especially her sugar cookies and would give out as gifts on occasions like Christmas. Fay also loved her flower gardens; she spent many enjoyable days in her gardens and shared them with all flower lovers. Fay was a member of the Pokagon United Methodist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerick and Joy VanLue and her siblings, Donald VanLue, Arleen Kirk, and Norma Bartak. Fay is survived by her husband, Clifford Walter; sister, Janet Reed of Niles; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at West Woods of Niles for the wonderful care she received during her time there. Fay will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony. Pastor William Walters will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pokagon United Methodist Church
