Obituary of Jerry Dean Stockwell

Jerry Dean Stockwell, 74, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Dowagiac. Jerry was born on October 27, 1945, to the late George R. and Ruth A. (Weiss) Stockwell. After graduating from Dowagiac Central, he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. When he returned home he worked in the movie theatre industry for many years, he then went on to work for the Pizza Hut Corporation, retiring after 32 years. He could fix anything and loved to cook Sunday dinner every week. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Stockwell; and sister, Rose Smith. Jerry is survived by his wife, Pam; five daughters, Lisa Andersen of Dowagiac; Sheri (Mike) Carbone of Sheridan, Illinois; Brenda (Ryan) Hemenway, and Noreen (Aaron) Grabemeyer of Dowagiac; and Amanda (Tom) MacDonald of Paw Paw, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, and Alaina Andersen, Isaac, and Connie Grabemeyer, and Braylen, and Juliana Hemenway; his brother, Marvin (Angie) of Lakeland, Florida; two sisters, Esther (Bill) Stickan of Coldwater; and Edna (George) Tabbert of Dowagiac; along with many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to the family or to the donor’s choice.
