I miss you bestie... This definitely feels surreal, but I know you are in a much better place, free from pain and complications. I can imagine you singing and dancing like you always did, anytime, any place, and you always had the greatest facial expressions, the best laugh, and I’m going to simply miss hearing your voice, and so many other things about you that were so wonderful, that I hope I never forget about you. You were the best of the best, my go-to girl, whether I was feeling up or down or just needed some Shalonda in my life. I’m thankful for all the great memories we have together, and I will forever cherish every single one... I love you! I will continue to pray for your son, who you loved so dearly, and the rest of your family and friends. So many were touched by you. You will be missed by so many, my friend...

I met Shalonda at Merritt Elementary when she did her student teaching. We reconnected when she returned to Merritt to aide in our Preschool classroom. She had the brightest personality and lit up a room when she walked in. I never saw her down. Her face lit up whenever she talked about Kenny. I saw her a year ago at Walmart and we visited for a very long time. She was always fun to talk to. Fly high with the angels, my dear. You will be missed here on Earth!!!
