What can I say about Uncle Duane? He had gusto, could be loud, always made me laugh, and I couldn't wait for the few times I got to be with him. He loved his mama and papa, that was obvious. His family connections were strong. My aunt was the center of his world. Proud to be a Vietnam veteran and even prouder to be a grandpa and great-grandfather. Even though he was sick last time he visited and sometimes struggled with strength and energy, he wanted to go to the zoo and oh what a day we had. The one thing he really wanted was to ride a camel, so we got him on a camel. I will never forget how tickled he was to be up on that dang camel, and this is how I choose to remember him now. Whether it's in your beloved truck, on a shiny hog, or up on the back of some critter, ride on Uncle Duane. Ride proud. Until we meet again. Forever in my heart.

I didn't know you you well Duane even though I do remember you from school. I also know that you have a wonderful heart and you enjoyed life to fullest. You have done great things in the world. Pop's and I didn't always see eye to eye on things but we had a special connection, we both loved my mother. And for that we put are differences aside and became family. We shared a love for tattoos. I have one he got me as a Christmas present. I will always have that gift to remind me of him. He was a wonderful Grandpa and great grandpa to my children and grandchildren. I'm sure he's riding a hog somewhere in the after life. Rest easy pop's.

I met Duane through Martin's and motorcycle events I worked. He was always ready with a witty comeback and smile. He was a man well loved by his fellow bikers, friends and acquaintances. My thought and prayers go out to the entire Vance family.

My Deepest Sympathy for the families in their loss. Duane was a unique individual, which I met through my late ex-husband Ken Cox and the "Baldwin road in Oak Manor". He always kept you on your toes and brought a smile to your heart. Rest in Peace my friend!
