Obituary of Joyce Marie Kindig

Joyce M. Kindig, 88, of Cassopolis, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at her home, with her loving family by her side.
Joyce was born in Dowagiac, on June 2, 1931, to the late Kenneth and Florence (Wilson) Cooper. She graduated from Dowagiac Central High in 1949.
On February 12, 1972, she wed Richard “Wayne” Kindig at the courthouse in Cassopolis. Joyce was a wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and making afghans, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Burling.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Richard Kindig of Cassopolis; children, Dr. Charles (Kathy) Burling, Robert (Debbe) Burling, Diane (Pat) Harding, Thomas Burling, and Linda (Rodger) Sims, all of Dowagiac; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; along with a sister, Elsie (Joe) Gaideski of Brooksville, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel in Niles. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Caring Circle Hospice or any other hospice organization of your choice.
