Aunt Lucy was a special lady. She always had a warm smile for me, was easy to talk to, and showed an interest in my life. I remember times in Niles when I visited as a young girl and she taught me how to “do ceramics”. I’ve been thinking of all the beautiful ceramic items she made for me over the years. I went in my storage room and found the figure of a dog “Shadow” - painted to look like the dog we had when I was growing-up. She even painted the flowers around the base blue to match the blue flowered wallpaper in my bedroom at the time. She paid thoughtful attention to details when she made gifts for others. The base of the dog figure holds a music box which plays the song, “You Light Up My Life”. I’ve been playing the music box and thinking of Aunt Lucy. She is dearly missed.
