Obituary of Delores Jean Worvey

Delores J. Worvey, 77, of Niles, passed away on January 29, 2020, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles, following an extended illness. She was born on April 20, 1942, in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Alvin L and Amelia (Rach) Weiss. On September 4, 1965, Delores wed Bobby Marvin Worvey Jr. at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary prior to his passing in 2015. Delores was a member of Hope Community Church in Niles. A homemaker most of her life, Delores looked forward to gardening, keeping detailed records of weather reports, and time spent with family. Delores was passionate about Elvis and impersonators, including Doug Church and Irv Cass; she collected memorabilia, made many travels to Graceland and remained an avid fan up until her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother and her best friend, Mary Shearer. Delores is survived by her children, Kathy (Charles) Lutin of Niles, Barbara (Robert) Fay of Buchanan and Bobby III (Kim) Worvey of Niles; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Robby, Chad, Mark, Jessica, Michelle, Amanda (Tony) and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with a time of visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
