Obituary of Michael Charles Stover

Michael C. Stover passed away of heart failure at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, on January 28, 2020. He was born in Long Beach, California on December 4, 1960, to Francis “Smokey” Stover and Diane (Clopton) Stover. At the age of four and a half, he and his family moved back to his father’s hometown of Berrien Springs where he attended elementary and junior high school. He loved fishing at the dam on the St Joseph River, attend the BCYF, high school football, and basketball games, and being with his friends. The family moved to Las Vegas in early teens, where after high school he joined the Army. Being stationed in Germany, afforded him opportunities to travel through Europe and Greece. With his tour over he eventually settled in California. Though he loved the beach, he eventually followed his parents back to Berrien Springs where he was a member of the Friends of Berrien for a time. Michael was also a member of the Michigan Real Estate Association. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Stover; uncle, James (Virginia) Stover; Grandparents, Roland and Mildred (Murphy) Stover; and great-niece, Chloe Hobbs. Michael is survived by his mother, Diane Stover; sisters, Melody (Tom) Dykstra, Patricia Stover-Hobbs; nieces, Tiarra Ethridge, Kellie (Rich) Van Norman; nephews, Brandon Hobbs, Charles (Heather) Hobbs and Thomas (Kayla) Dykstra; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; cousins scattered throughout the USA; and many friends, too many to mention.
