Obituary of Mona Ruth Brann

Mona R. Brann, 79, of Niles, passed away on January 9, 2020, at St. Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born on August 20, 1940, in Union City, Tennessee to the late John and Mary Alston. Mona wed Jerry E. Brann Sr. on August 6, 1960. Together Mona and Jerry owned and operated Brann Adult Foster Care Home in Niles. She was also certified as a beautician and looked forward to time with her clients. Family was extremely important to Mona and she cherished the moments they were together. Preceding her in death are her parents and eleven siblings. She is survived by her husband, Jerry E. Brann Sr. of Niles; her children, Barry Brann and Jerry Wayne Brann, both of Niles and Karen Brann of Portage, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister, Katherine Harmon of Union City, Tennessee along with countless nieces, nephews, and other family members. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Niles with Pastor Bryant L. Bacon Sr. officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Committal services will follow the service at Silverbrook Cemetery.
