Obituary of Sherri Ann Wogatzke

Sherri A. (True) Wogatzke, 54, of Niles, passed away at her residence on Friday morning, August 11, 2017, surrounded by her family, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born on October 19, 1962 in Niles to the late William E. and Patricia Ann (Murphy) True. Sherri graduated from Niles High School, class of 1981. She was married to Frederick Wogatzke II at a ceremony in Niles. Although the marriage ended, the couple had two children and remained friends. Sherri worked for Uniroyal for over twenty years and most recently was employed at Universal Medical Specialties in Berrien Springs. She was a sports enthusiast and was an avid fan of University of Michigan, the Chicago Bears and a Nascar Fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Sherri was active in coaching and volunteering for many years with AYSO as well as the following organizations; Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Salvation Army, MDA and Habitat for Humanity. Sherri always enjoyed camping with her family and will be remembered for her fantastic baking skills, earning her the name "Cake Boss". She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia (Murphy) True and two siblings; Tracey Bowker and Billy True. Sherri is survived by her children, Frederick Wogatzke III of Niles, Amy Young (Steve Zielke) of Galien, her grandchildren; Destini, Cole, Alex, Freddy, Ricky and Laila, sisters, Melanie (Lesley) Sanford of Elkhart and Robin True of Niles. She will also be missed by many other family members, friends and co-workers. A celebration of Sherri's life will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at ¬¬¬¬¬a later date.
