Thomas “Tommy” Keys, 32, of Dowagiac, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on November 4, 1987, in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Robert LH Keys and Geanie D. Thompson. Tommy enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and making everyone around him smile. According to him, he was known as the best mechanic around. Tommy was a kind, and caring young man, he loved his family. Tommy is survived by his father, Robert LH (Carol) Keys of South Bend, Indiana; mother, Geanie (Philip) Hoekstra of Dowagiac; his children, Ariel Dyda, Kareina Collet, and Thomas LJ Keys II; siblings, Bob (Molly Burns) Keys of Dowagiac; Autumn (David) Johnson of Dowagiac; and Daniel (Melanie) Keys of Dowagiac, numerous nieces, and nephews, and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Peggy Thompson, along with a couple of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main St. in Niles. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Tommy’s memory may be made to the donor’s choice.
