Obituary of Mary F Patterson

Mary F. Patterson, 93, of Niles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, November 17, 2012. She was born on March 1, 1919 in Three Rivers, Michigan to the late Claude and Ellen Brown. On July 27, 1940, Mary wed Walter D. Patterson at a ceremony in South Bend. Mary was first and foremost a wife, mother and homemaker. Later, when her children were grown, she worked for Simplicity Pattern for many years. Mary enjoyed quilting, gardening, being outdoors, traveling and mostly spending time with her family. Mary was a gifted cook and fed anyone who came to her home. She also had a great love for her pets through the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Patterson in 2007, a great-great granddaughter Brooklyn Patterson and two brothers Richard C. and Larry E. Brown. Mary is survived by a son Dennis (Patricia "Pat") Patterson of Niles, daughters Janice (Bobby) Morrison of Niles and Marsha (Kenneth) Burger of Niles, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel in Niles. Mary will be interred next to Walt at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
