Robert A. Boblet Jr., 50, of Sturgis, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at Sturgis Hospital on December 28, 2019. He was born on August 12, 1969 in Battle Creek to the late Robert Sr. and Barbara “Bobbie” J. (Brendum) Boblet. Robert most recently worked at Indiana Galvanizing in Middlebury, IN and several other factories in his hometown, Battle Creek. Bob was a sports enthusiast watching the Detroit Lions, University of Michigan, Baseball and Wrestling. He was also an avid movie collector, mostly action. Bob collected miniature football helmets and tools. He liked quiet times alone and listening to all types of music, but most especially 80’s rock with AC/DC being his favorite. Bob also thoroughly enjoyed barbeques and sitting around a campfire with friends and family. Bob was passionate about his family, including his fiancée, Deb Krumm; each week picking her up a teddy bear rose. He was preceded in death by his parents and his treasured niece, Kayla Babick. Robert is survived by his son, Merle (Kim) Boblet of Battle Creek; a grandson, Nathan Boblet; fiancée, Deb Krumm; his sisters, Traci (Andrew) Babick of Sturgis and Karen (Dan) Thurston of Battle Creek as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, including his best friend's daughters, whom he "adopted" as nieces. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Teamster Union Hall, Battle Creek, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 with a time of fellowship and dinner directly following.
