I met Casey some years ago when I signed up for training sessions at a local gym here in Eau Claire. He had high expectations for his clients but was also the biggest cheerleader for even the smallest success. I remember the first time I actually managed to do a real push-up, he grabbed the gym manager and brought him over to watch. He was more excited about it than so was. After he moved to Florida, we would text every now and a gain just to see how each others doing. I reached out to him a couple months ago for help again. He took me under his wing with open arms, even 1500 miles away. He was an amazing trainer not for only for what he knew but for who he was. He was a champion for thos he cared about. We had many conversations about some of the hardships we had both gone through in our personal lives. Even during the hardest times, he was a beacon of hope and positivity. He maintained his faith and knew God had a plan. That’s why this is such a shock to me. He had so much more to do! I will forever be grateful for his friendship in and out of the gym. To his family, I send you nothing but love and peace. He will always been seen as an amazing human being. Thank you for sharing him with the world.

The last time I talked to Casey (for an hour!) was on my 60th birthday in late November. We talked about life: his siblings, his Florida church friends, starting over and making lemonade out of lemons, and his deep concern for all the peeps who called him trainer. I loved his positivity and willingness to see the glass half full. I am so grateful this beautiful young man called me friend. Enjoy Christmas with your beloved Jesus, Casey.
