Obituary of Vernon "Jim" Wagner

Vernon “Jim” James Wagner, 87, of Niles, passed away at Riveridge Manor in Niles on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Jim was born on October 6, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan to Vernon and Clarabelle Wagner.  His parents preceded him along with three brothers and one sister.  Jim is survived by two sisters, Loretta Snyder of Westland, Michigan and Lorraine Gowen of Fayetteville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sharon Wagner of Westland.

Jim is also survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Wagner; four children, Judy (Bill) Harris of Lynchburg, Virginia, James Wagner of Clarksville, Indiana, Jeffery Wagner of South Bend, Jerry (Summer) Wagner of Jerome, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Jim retired from Kelsy Hayes of Romulus, Michigan, where he was a machinist for 32 years.  He loved sports, especially golf, basketball, and bowling.  He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.  Jim was also a longtime member of Summit Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.  Burial will follow Friday at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor at 10:00 a.m.
