M. Lynn Colon, 66, of Albion passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Allegiance Health Care while her family surrounded and cared for her. Lynn was born to the late Kelly J. Sr. and Nellie I. (Anthony) Young on November 14, 1947 in Kimball, West Virginia. Efrain "Frank" Colon swept Lynn off of her feet and on August 5th, 1967 they wed and their love only continued to grow. In 1987 Lynn went back to school and received her diploma from Albion High School. Lynn enjoyed crafts, shopping, baking and traveling, especially to ladies conferences. She had a deep faith in God and testified often of the many miracles God performed in her life. Next to her love for God, Lynn was passionate about her family, and was an awesome homemaker. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, and no one could spoil her granddaughters more than her. Lynn's health declined for many years; however, her love for her family kept Lynn fighting. She was an active member of Christ Apostolic Church for over 50 years. Lynn had a smile that could light up a room and could make any event a party. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Thurl "Sonny" Young and Kelly James Young. She is survived by her husband Frank Colon of Albion; her two daughters, Scarlette (Rev. Douglas) Fleury of Battle Creek, Missy Colon of Albion, and one son Rocky Colon of Lady Lake, Florida . She is also survived by her three sisters; Syble Hackworth, Scarlet "Dickie" Blankenship both of Albion and Cathy (David) Elkins of Concord; one brother, Neal (Faye) Young of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two granddaughters Chantilly and Olivia Fleury both of Battle Creek; grandson Narciso Colon of Lady Lake, Florida and great grandson Armani Colon. Lynn opened her heart many years ago and adopted a daughter to her family, Tina (Gerald) Johnson of Battle Creek, as well as their daughter, Arianna, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends whose lives are enriched from knowing her. Services for Lynn will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Apostolic Church 503 N. Superior Street, Albion, Michigan. An interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
