Obituary of Virginia Pearl Grammer

Virginia P Grammer, 90, of Berrien Center, formerly of Chicago Heights, Illinois passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. She was born on March 17, 1922 in Sesser, Illinois to the late Fred and Dallas Lee (Stewart) Lefler. Virginia was an extremely hard worker and had a very successful residential real estate career. She also enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family. Her devotion to her faith and her family was evident. After her son became paralyzed, as an adult, she and her mother took care of him at her residence for over thirteen years. She was a former member of the Manteo Church of the Nazarene in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, siblings and two sons Dave and Jeffery Dame. Virginia is survived by her daughters Nancy DeRossi of New Troy, Michigan and Vicki Lindsey of Georgia, a granddaughter Faith Penley of Stevensville, Michigan, along with seven other grandchildren; Joe, Dale and Daryl DeRossi, Linda Copeland, Dawn Belting and Timothy and Patrick Lindsey, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, two sisters Glenda (Larry) Paveletich of Sesser, Illinois and Ilene Learned of Buckner, Illinois. In keeping with Virginia's wishes a private service will be held by her family at a later time.
