Obituary of Beverly Ann Neumann

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beverly A. “Oma” Neumann, 86, of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.

Beverly was born on September 9, 1933, to the late Henry and Ines (Wiedman) Page in Dowagiac.  She graduated from Dowagiac Central in 1951. Beverly went to work at Bakeman’s in Dowagiac, while she was still in high school.

She married Reinhold Neumann on December 22, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Dowagiac. To that union, two amazing children were born.  Beverly worked for some years in manufacturing in Bangor, Michigan. She then stayed home to raise her family.  She later went on to work at McDonald’s, which was a job she loved, and eventually retired from there.  Beverly loved having her children around her; she rarely missed an event that they participated in. After her grandson came along, she was at every sporting event that he played in.  Anyone who met her thought the world of her and she was loved by many. Beverly enjoyed many years of league bowling, family gatherings, and watching many sports (especially Duke Basketball with Lisa and Buddy). She could often be found spending time outside, sitting and enjoying the sun, doing yard work, watching the birds, going dancing, and reading. Beverly enjoyed baking for family and friends and listening to music. Beverly loved spending time with her daughter, they were inseparable, each other's best friend and often referred to as “two peas in a pod”.  She will be missed greatly by all who knew her and will be remembered fondly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reinhold; brother, Ross Page; and best friend, Holdine (Hilda Kuck) Baars.

Beverly is survived by her son, Henry Neumann; daughter, Lisa Neumann; grandson, Henry “Buddy” Neumann; great-granddaughter, Daphne; sister, Irene Deihl; and sister-in-law, Sharon Harnden all of Dowagiac.  She was “Grandma Bev” to Elyse Koester of Festus, Missouri and Mitchell Groh of Portage, Michigan; “Great Grandma Bev” to Gregory and Lorelei Koester of Festus, Missouri; second “Mom” to Emily Groh of Portage, Michigan; and is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to send a HUGE thank you to all the personnel at the hospital, Pride Care Ambulance, The Timbers of Cass County, and especially to the caring and friendly people at Elara Caring Hospice for all the care, comfort, kind words, and dedication you gave to Beverly.  It was a comfort for the family knowing that she was in good care and surrounded by professional, caring, and loving staff.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles at a private service.
